For the first time in its 12 year history this shield / trophy was awarded to two people. This is because both Abi and Laila medalled at the National Championships this year in Manchester.
Abi and Laila also were awarded trophies in the Christchurch Council Annual Awards Ceremony this December. The awards were given to them in a special award ceremony by the mayor of Christchurch.

This is what Abi had to say about the Council awards:-

On Friday 28th of November, Laila and I went along to the east end bowls club, to the Christchurch sports award, which we were nominated for as we competed in the national championships held in Manchester in September this year. There were other students representing their sports too, from sailing to other martial arts like judo, and various awards were given out throughout the evening. Laila and I both received bronze awards which we were delighted to collect from the mayor of Christchurch. Overall we had an amazing time and would like to thank everyone who has helped us to achieve everything we have this year, including all of the other members of Dorset Taekwondo, our parents, Master Naraine and our coach Marcin Tata.
