Report on Special Seminar & Match day – with Rio Olympian

On Saturday 19th November we had a Special Sports Development training session at the Grange School.

We were privileged to have two very special guest instructor for this session from the Polish National Team (pictured above)

Jarek Mecmajer

European Student Games – Gold
Senior European Championships – Silver
Currently Ranked World number 28

Karol Robak

Bronze medal at the European Championships
Silver medal at the European Games in Baku
Silver medal at the Youth European Championships 2015
Gold medal at competition qualifying for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro
Olympian at Rio de Janerio.

The session involved a fun warm up, scenario drills for modern competition, leg control exercises and stretching exercises. Great fun was had by all.

The following day on 20th November we had an additional 40 people from New Milton, Blue Wave and South Hams Taekwondo clubs. After another session with Jarek and Karol we had matches against each other. Even though Jarek was competing in the Israel Open the following weekend, surprisingly he was happy to have a friendly match with anyone of any size, skill or ability!

The feedback received for the coaches and players was great and we are planning to invite them back in 2017.

Below is a small selection of the unedited 1500+ photos which I have of the weekend.
Many of the matches were recorded and will soon be passed onto your coaches so you can watch together.
