Over the last year I had been able to complete my Class 3.0 (Corner Judging course) and additional modules which allowed me to judge and officiate for competitions up and down the country (including Nationals!!). With this experience, some support from new found friends and Master Naraine, I was then able to go for my Class 2.0 Centre Referee qualifications. This involved an intense online Korean speaking course and exam, followed by a practical exam in Nottingham.
As a Centre Referee, I am responsible for effective match management and fair play. There is the need to be alert and maintain accurate scoring at all times. The role comes with the added responsibility of mentoring developing Class 3 Corner Judges, while myself being mentored by those more experienced. My experiences refereeing have enabled me to gain a better understanding of the sport which I am able to use within my own training and pass onto my peers.
I am looking forward to continuing to develop my referee career and am excited to see what opportunities it shall bring.
