2023 was another great success for Dorset Taekwondo Association and our members
A few of the highlights are listed below (and shown in the photos below)
• Coach Marina wins a bronze and the European Poomsae Championships
• Two of our coaches (Cassidy and Kailin) pass the rank of 4th Dan Master
• The club wins a 3rd place team trophy at the Bluewave Poomsae competition
• 0ver 150 people pass kup / colour belt tests
• The club purchases some electronic scoring equipment
• DTA members win several medals at the National Poomsae Championships
• Three members of DTA (Marina / Jemma / Lucia) selected for GB Poomsae team 2024
There are far too many other amazing achievements to list.
The coaches plan to meet up in the next couple of weeks but we are looking to continue this winning theme into 2024, and create further opportunities for our members including
• Sparring match days with local clubs
• Build a sparring team and attend more sparring competitions
• Continuing Kup and Dan Gradings in house
• Several coaches will take and retake the British Taekwondo Level 2 coaching qualification which has been revamped and relaunched
• Subsidise members participation in Judge and Referee qualifications
• Perhaps host our own Taekwondo Hanmadang (Festival) (Hanmadang is a multi-event Taekwondo competition suitable for all ages and abilities)
