3 Players – 3 Medals
Well done to Laila, Lucy and Archie who took part in the Chungdokwan GB National Championships on (Easter) Saturday 26th March in Bracknell.
As always it was a long day. The small team, coached by Steve, were there at 8am for the weigh-in. With a Poomsae competition first the matches did not start until 1pm.
Up first was Archie who one his first 2 matches with some ease. His strength and spirit was really good. With some fine tuning of his skill set, and keeping up his training, he will be ready to move up to the advanced category. Archie narrowly lost the final in 3-2 in the last few seconds of the match. Brilliant result – SILVER| medal.
Laila had a tough match against a National Standard Competitor. She managed to steel a point but went 9-1 down getting caught by a flurry of headshots. Tough match but always lessons to learn and move on to the next – well done. BRONZE
Lucy had a very closely fought match. Lucy was knocked off her feet first kick of the match. She never lost her confidence and stuck to her game plan coming back to win the Match with a few 3-point headshots. GOLD
Coach Steve said “I was very proud of all of you it was a great day and everyone put in 100% effort. I believe that you all went beyond your own personal bests. We will put into practice all the thing we have learned for the next competition.”
