For the first time ever the WT World Championships was held in the UK from 15-19th May in the Manchester Arena. The world’s best athletes came together to compete, over 5 days, for the World Championship title and valuable ranking point for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics!
Master Naraine (Head of Dorset Taekwondo) was selected to referee at this prestigious event. Master Naraine said “With several thousand referees from all over the world eligible to referee I was really pleased to get the call from World Taekwondo… This selection places me in the top 100 in the world. Its very high pressure as the matches were live streamed and broadcast world wide – any mistake by the referee is scrutinised.”
Master Naraine has been a WT International Referee for over 10 years, but being in the top 100 and selected for the World Championships was the crown of his referee career (to date).
